SimHub™ works with our grantees on their immersive media projects in a variety of ways. We provide access to different virtual platforms. We currently have projects being developed in Jibe (a Reaction Grid, browser-accessed OpenSim virtual world), Second Life and Teleplace. Our membership in the Virtual World Consortium allows us to experiment in many platforms. We provide some technical support and user training for faculty projects and their students. Learning to work in virtual worlds is a new endeavor for most higher-ed faculty. As our grantees learn to work in these platforms, we hope to learn what it will take to make using these technologies easier for those that follow.
