Mini-Grants

Immersive Technology Enhanced Instruction Development Award (ITEIDA)

**Grants have already been awarded for 2011**

Background

The University Center of Greenville and SimHub™ provide technical and strategic resources for UCG faculty and students applying immersive technologies to both expand access to higher education and to enhance the teaching/learning process. Grants are awarded for summer development and academic year implementation of immersive technology-based tools, integrated applications, or strategies. Guidelines are general to allow faculty latitude in designing projects.

Proposals

Faculty requests for summer support typically are two pages in length and represent funding in the $3000 – $5000 range. Requests should address the following aspects of the proposed project:

  • Lead University:
  • Additional University/Community partners:
  • Principal Investigator:
  • Additional Participating Faculty Member(s):
  • Course Identification:
  • Course Description:
  • Proposed Application:
  • Budget ( e.g., faculty stipend(s), student stipend(s), other):
  • Evaluation Plan:

SimHub™ is interested especially in projects that measure, evaluate, assess, or otherwise examine the effectiveness of immersive technologies in advancing instructional or investigative goals of the participants funded. As a result, priority consideration will be given to proposals with clear, well-developed evaluation plans.

This Mini-grant program is open to all SimHub™ Partners and clients and other Greenville County businesses and public agencies. While any faculty from a UCG institution is eligible to apply, priority consideration will be given to faculty who teach at UCG. Proposals are typically due mid March and awards are announced in late April.
